In October 1986, GRUPO INTRAMAR S.A. was founded at the request of our first principals NAVICON LINES. The intention was to consolidate all commercial and operational activities under one roof.
Due to the success of the first year of operations, our president, Mr. Alberto J. Pernas, decided to acquire all the shares of the corporation in 1987, conserving the name GRUPO INTRAMAR S.A. and independizing the operation.
Our group has been in the Costa Rican maritime business during the last 23 years, although most of our staff has been in this line of business during more than 25 years. This means a solid and reliable background and experience in all aspects of the shipping industry, including commercial, operational / logistic and financial/ accounting issues.
At the present, we do have offices at both Costa Rican ports (Puerto Limón on the Atlantic and Puerto Caldera on the Pacific), including CY facilities at both ports as well as in our capital city, San José. This allows us to cover only the whole national territory but also Nicaragua, thus we have the facility to deliver and/or load shipments at any point of the two mentioned countries.
Being the fact that the commercial and customer service areas are of utmost importance in the success of a shipping company in a given market, we have thoroughly emphasized our efforts in these departments and this policy has allowed us leaderships and substantial market shares in the traffics we have attended. |
